These programmes are designed for learners over 18 who do not have standard entry qualifications for direct entry into University programmes in Health & Social Care.
The Higher Nationals in Health and Social Care has been designed to enable progression to further academic study, such as a dregree or professional qualification, as well as to academic study.
The Qualifications provide a thorough grounding in the key competencies required in the sector. BTEC Higher Nationals offer a strong emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding in the sector.
The BTEC Higher National Certificate is a 10-unit qualification of which five units are mandatory core units.
The BTEC Higher National Diploma is a 16-unit qualification of which eight units are mandatory core units
