The level 4 qualification is aimed at people in supervisory or management roles.
At level 4 candidates have the option of following either the Children and Young People route or the Adults routes.
General Mandatory Units for Children and Young People Route:
| 401 | Use and develop methods and systems to communicate record and report |
| 402 | Contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy and safe practices in the working environment |
| 403 | Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others |
Specific Mandatory Units for Children and Young People Route:
| 404 | Develop practice which promotes the involvement, well-being and protection of children and young people |
Specific Mandatory Units for Adult Route:
| 405 | Develop practices which promote choice, well-being and protection of all individuals |
Candidates have the choice of selecting four (4) Optional Units from 18 optional units to make a total of eight units for the complete award (contact the course leader for more information.
18-24 months
City & Guilds NVQ Health and Social Care Level 4
Candidates with Health and Social Care NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent qualification would normally progress onto the level 4 qualification.
Candidates with 2 years work experience in the sector supported by references will also be considered.
Care staff with senior management responsibility can progress to Leadership and Management in Care Services NVQ Level 4.
