Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Nationals for IT Practitioners

Who is it for?

The BTEC Nationals for IT Practitioners have been developed in the IT sector to focus on education and training for IT employees, providing opportunities for IT employees to achieve a nationally recognized Level 3 vocationally specific qualification

 
The award also gives learners the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised vocationally
specific qualification to enter employment in the IT sector or to progress to higher education vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel BTEC Higher National in Computing. It also gives learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.

What will I study?

The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC National Award for IT Practitioners consists of two core units plus four specialist units that provide for a combined total of 360 guided learning hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

Award:             Twelve months (12 months)

Certificate:      Eighteen months (18 months)

What are the entry requirements?

Candidates would normally be required to have completed the Level two IT Practitioners Award/Certificate. Mature learners without formal qualification but, with work experience in the IT sector are also eligible for the programme.
