CLAIT is a qualification designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users everywhere, whether in employment, education or training. The City of London Business College has found it an exciting course for beginners in terms of exposing them to the world of computers and their applications.
Offering flexible learning, candidates can choose to achieve single units, a certificate or diploma and will receive a certificate for whichever option they achieve. Candidates have the choice of achieving as many or as few units as are appropriate for their own learning needs or employment situation. The core units have been designed to encompass the essential core knowledge and competencies that are needed in the workplace to complete both routine and non-routine tasks. The optional units allow candidates to develop skills in a range of different IT applications.
Suitable for newcomers to computing who are looking to develop basic skills in industry standard software and operating systems.
There are fourteen applications covered by this programme, but the College is at present preparing students for the following applications:
Twelve months (12 months)
Certificate/Diploma for IT users Level 1 (New CLAiT - International)
No formal qualification is required to register provided the applicant is aged 16 or over.
By offering clear unit progression between levels, learners will see a clear route to success. CLAIT also provides a basis for progression to the NVQs which form part of the ITQ suite (NVQ Levels 1, 2 and 3 for IT Users).
