PRE-MASTERS IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Who is it for?
For mature learners over 19 who do not have standard entry qualifications for direct entry into the University of Sunderland Business Masters programmes in Business Studies, Marketing and International Management. The course has been aimed at providing the required foundation skills primarily for learners from the Overseas market and is suitable for all nationalities.
The programme consists of a optional core of Study Skills and English for academic purposes. In addition to this, students will undertake 6 modules in Business and Finance.
The fast track language programme aims at activating and developing students’ existing knowledge of English and enhancing their confidence to deal with both the social and academic challenges they will meet in English speaking higher education institutions in the UK.
What will I study?
The study skills component will develop students’ ability in; writing academic assignments and projects; listening to lectures and note taking; presentation skills; information retrieval; effective reading skills and self-study techniques. By way of written tasks students will be tutored to become conversant with all the conventions of essay writing at post graduate degree level.

The programme is designed to give the student comprehensive understanding on Business Environment, Strategy and Functions. Upon completion of these units the student will prepare a management report which will consolidate their knowledge and understanding of Business Management.

What are the entry requirements?
To enrol on this programme, students must have IELTS Level 5.0 Academic English plus one of the following qualifications:
- Atleast 3rd Class Degree in Business.
- A 1st degree in any other discipline
- HND Business plus work experience
- A qualification equivalent to any of the above
What can I do next?
On completion of this programme students will be eligible for entry to the following University of Sunderland Masters programmes; Masters in Business Studies (MBS), MA in International Management, MA Marketing, or possibly MBA.
