NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home BASED Childcare

What is this for?

This qualification prepares learners to set up a home - based childcare setting. Suitable for learners who wish to be employed in home based childcare setting as child-minding assistants or other child carer (eg nannies, au pairs).

What will I study?

The Award is made up of two units:

Unit 1 Prepare to work as a home based carer
Unit 2 Preparing to set up a home based childcare service

The qualification provides the knowledge required to work with children in a home environment and how to set up a home based business.

Additional qualifications with this course:

  • Paediatric First Aid - Level 3 qualification
  • Safeguarding
  • Health & safety

What are the entry requirements?

You should be at least 16 years old

Who is it suitable for?

Anyone who works or wants to work as:

  • Child minder
  • Child minding assistant
  • Nannies
  • Au Pairs
  • Or other child carer in home based setting

Do you need to be working to take the qualification?

No, This is a knowledge - based qualification therefore no placement is required. This qualification is internally assessed using a range of assessment methods. This could include a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by cache.

How long is the Course?

5 days per week (5 hours) for 2 weeks

This qualification is good introduction to Early Years Educator qualification
