Who is this for?

The Diploma is for existing care workers or those looking to start their first care job.
This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

What will I study?

The Diploma in health & Social Care is split into three pathways with set units:
  • Generic Health and Social Care
  • Dementia
  • Learning Disability

What are the entry requirements?

Level 1

  • No formal entry requirements
  • You should be 16 years old or over
Level2

  • GCSE or equivalent A-C
  • You should be 16 years old or over

Mandatory Entry Requirements

  • DBS is required
  • Interview and assessment
Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care
Learners must achieve 46 credits.
24 credits for the 9 mandatory units and you will also require 22 optional credits from the above three pathways.

There are 9 mandatory units:

  • Introduction to communication in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
  • Introduction to personal development in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
  • Introduction to equality and inclusion in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
  • Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children's and young people's setting.
  • Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
  • The role of the health and social care worker
  • Implement person centred approaches in health and social care
  • Contribute to health and safety in health and social care
  • Handle information in health and social care settings

How long is the Course?

You can usually complete it in a year or less.
1days per week in class and 1 day placement (6 hours)

Health and Social Care (Adults) Diploma Level 3.
